What the grader checks
Title: length, keyword in the first 80 characters, banned words and special characters, repeated words, capitalisation. Bullets: count, length and whether each leads with a benefit. Description: length and formatting. Images: at least seven, plus video. A+ content. Reviews: rating and count. Keywords: whether your target keyword appears in the title, bullets and description, and whether backend terms fit in 249 bytes.
The score weights each area by its effect on ranking and conversion. Fix the highest-value items first: a missing keyword in the title or too few images usually costs more than description length.
Frequently asked questions
What makes a well-optimized Amazon listing?
+
A well-optimized listing has a title under the character limit with the main keyword in the first 80 characters, five benefit-led bullets of about 200 characters, a detailed description or A+ content, at least seven high-quality images plus a video, backend search terms under 249 bytes, and a rating of 4.3 or higher with a healthy review count.
How is the listing score calculated?
+
The grader scores seven areas - title, bullets, description, images, A+ content, reviews and keywords - against Amazon's published rules and common best practice, then weights them by impact on ranking and conversion into a 0–100 total. Each failed check lists the points it costs, so you can fix the most valuable problems first.
How many images should an Amazon listing have?
+
Use all available image slots: Amazon shows up to nine images on most listings, and seven or more is a strong baseline. Include a pure-white main image, several angles, a scale or in-use shot, an infographic of key features, and a lifestyle image. A product video adds further conversion lift where your category allows it.
Can I grade a listing by ASIN?
+
Yes, when ASIN lookups are enabled the grader fetches the live title, bullets, description, images, rating and review count for a US ASIN. Paste mode always works: copy the listing text from Seller Central or the product page, add the image count and review numbers, and the grader scores it the same way.
