Why Amazon autocomplete is a good keyword source
Amazon's search suggestions come from what shoppers actually type and buy, so they reflect real buying language rather than Google's. Expanding a seed keyword with each letter of the alphabet surfaces dozens of long-tail phrases - sizes, materials, uses and audiences - that a single search would not show.
Suggestions that appear across several expansions and near the top of the list tend to be the most searched. When search volume data is connected, the tool also shows estimated monthly searches.
Frequently asked questions
Where do these Amazon keywords come from?
+
They come from Amazon's own search autocomplete, the suggestions that appear as a shopper types in the Amazon search box. The tool queries it for your seed keyword and for the seed followed by every letter, then deduplicates the results. Because Amazon builds suggestions from real searches, they reflect how shoppers actually phrase what they want.
Does the tool show search volume?
+
The free version ranks suggestions by how often and how high they appear across the A–Z expansion, which is a reliable relative signal. Estimated monthly search volume appears when a search volume data source is connected. Use relative rank to shortlist keywords, then prioritise the phrases that best describe your product.
How do I use Amazon keywords in my listing?
+
Put the single most important phrase in the first 80 characters of your title, spread secondary phrases across your bullet points where they describe real features, and put synonyms and variants that do not fit naturally into the backend search terms field. Avoid repeating the same words: Amazon indexes each word once.
Do I need Helium 10 or Jungle Scout for keyword research?
+
Not to start. Amazon autocomplete, competitor titles and your own Sponsored Products search-term reports cover most of what a new listing needs. Paid tools add reverse-ASIN lookups, historical volume and rank tracking, which become useful as you scale. This tool gives you the autocomplete layer for free.
